Plantar warts

Plantar warts

Plantar warts or papilloma are warts caused by the human papillomavirus; hence, the name. These warts develop on plantar surfaces. Being on your feet and walking tends to force the skin on the soles of the feet, making the wart grow to the inside, in addition to pain-causing pressure in the affected area. To prevent the spread of warts, the body forms calluses which can also cause pain when walking.

Just as occurs with all other types, these warts are caused by a virus that invades the skin through minor cuts and scrapes or a lack of moisture. They are contagious and commonly spread at public swimming pools or showers, much like all other kinds of warts.

Plantar papilloma are more common in children than adults as well as in those who take medications like corticosteroids or immuno-supressants.

Plantar warts are benign and can disappear even without treatment, but they are usually so painful they cannot be ignored.

So, HERBI FEET recommends first scraping the warts with a file to remove the dead cells and, immediately after, using salicylic acid-based SKINGEL VERRUGAS. In general, all you need to do is apply these patches daily and clean the foot well.
